Oslo Freedom Forum

The Human Rights Foundation is the world's leading organization fighting for human rights in authoritarian countries.

For over a decade, each year, HRF gathers in Oslo, Norway, to host the Oslo Freedom Forum: the largest global gathering of those defending freedom where it is most at risk.

Each year, activists, journalists, technologists, and philanthropists gather to partner together and collaborate on tackling the most pressing issues around the world.

This year they asked us to help them create their most impactful event ever. With a diverse group of nearly 30 activists from all around the world, the program needed to create a common narrative each of their talks, while also conveying organizational priorities and strategies.

We partnered with each of their main stage speakers, alongside an all-star policy and legal team and some amazing translators, we storyboarded and scripted each speech individually, designed each presentation, then spent hours rehearsing the content, tech requirements, and speech coaching and delivery.

On top of the content and programming, the event branding and identity, as well as the marketing and environmental design needed to convey the serious tone of the work of HRF, all the while maintaining the joy and hope of the partners HRF was giving a platform to.

With thousands of attendees flying from every corner of the globe to attend, as well as tens of thousands tuning in live online, we were also tasked with running the show and stage at one of Europe’s most beautiful theaters, Det Norske Teatret.
